How I became a social media guru →
A writer was looking for social media experts. I told him about my puppet show.
He wrote about it.
One more article adds to the legend.

Wow, the puppet thingie paid off
After nearly five months as a “government employee,” I finally managed to get a job. Starting Monday, I am working for Alternative Strategies, a San Diego-based PR agency with a satellite office in Chicago.
I’m excited. I have some high-end clients and it will be fun to use my talents for good companies (wow, I’m pretty good at the spin).
The media onslaught continues further...... →
CNBC was nice enough to do yet another story on PR Puppet Theatre. I have written three more scripts for the next season and hope to have a couple more written before we tape next week.

The media onslaught continues
I spent 11.5 years working at Wireless Flash News Service, a news agency serving 800 media outlets worldwide, and they were nice enough to do a story about PR Puppet Theatre.
Although they go out to places like Jay Leno, David Letterman, Daily Show and Colbert Report, as of 10:44 a.m. PST, I haven’t been inundated with calls.
I will stay on top of this.

Pulling the media's strings.....
Well, I guess I’ve done a good job of pulling the media’s strings with PR Puppet Theatre because CNBC columnist Jane Wells just linked to it in her Funny Business blog.
She thought it was funny except for the part where I asked for work. I don’t think she stayed for the closing theme.

confessions of a reluctant psychic
Anyone who knows me for a little while soon finds out that I once worked as a phone psychic.
I did it for about 11 months and was actually pretty good at it. Or so I’ve heard. Like many other things in my life, I tend to block out the stuff I don’ want to hear.
Anyway, I did it during the other big recession in my life out of a boiler room near the San Diego Mission (which according...

The second greatest cover letter ever written....
The job market is tough out there. That’s why I’m in here.
It’s been frustrating. As part of a generation raised to have exceptionally high self esteem, I get really frustrated when I pour my heart out into a cover letter only to have no response from the HR person (who I am sure would hire me if they could meet me in person).
Even worse: Being laid off has mentally put me in...
A couple projects rolling around in my head.
I’ve been in between jobs for the past three months and am coming to the conclusion that even though I want to work for the man, the man doesn’t necessarily want me.
For a guy who already has father issues, that’s disheartening.
So I am trying to figure something that will work for me as an entrepreneur. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far.
1. Doing public...

A dead woman asked me to be her Facebook friend
I joined Facebook after I was laid off in order to network for a new job. I also wanted to connect the disparate elements of my life into one place.
As you know, the weird thing about Facebook is that it can connect you to all sorts of people who had a peripheral part of your life.
That funny kid who needed to shave his moustache in kindergarten.
The girl who went on one date with you in...

This is my therapy for now....
I’ve been a professional writer for 20 years and in the process I’ve asked embarrassing questions to all sort of celebrities and non-celebrities.
For instance, when I talked to Princess Sarah Ferguson, I apologized to her on behalf of all Pisces for what her royal hubby may have put her through.
When I interviewed Marilyn Quayle, wife of former vice-president Dan Quayle, I was so...
